Catherine Clark,16, grew up in Ventura, California.  She started surfing when she was 4 and picked up short boarding when she was 11. She loves surfing because it allows her to be free. She has the most fun surfing when she is out with her friends at Rincon.

Catherine Clark is a surfer, model and singer from Ventura. A huge inspiration to many, Catherine is fast becoming the face of girls surfing, with her super looks and exceptional talent both in the water and out.

When did you start riding? I stood up for the first time when I was 4 but I didn’t get into surfing till I was about 8 or 9
Who influences style in your sport? Tom Curren
What event had the biggest impact on your life in the past year? My MCL getting strained has completely taken me out of the competitive loop. I am still trying to recover from it. Though it’s taken me away from surfing, It has allowed for a lot of inner reflection and expression through areas that were foreign to me before the injury. Since I can’t compete for the time being, playing music has become my main focus.
Favorite old-schooler in your sport? My dad.
If you could surf with ANYONE in the world who would it be? Hmmm… a kook, so I could get all the waves!
Favorite Music: Mumford and Sons, Johnny Flynn, M. Ward, and so on… but nothing beats a good jam sesh with my closest friends.
Favorite Movies: AVATAR.. I’m obsessed, Superbad, Black Swan, Twilight
