Surfing is a hobby, sport, recreation, and even spiritual
searching for many people. Some people might become very addicted to this
riding waves sport and immerse into themselves. Some find that this sport can
release them from stress and become way to leave anything behind even if only for
a few hours. While, others find that this sport is a way to make money by teaching
people of how to surf or compete with other surfers. No matter how you see it,
surfing is still considered as one of the best beach activities that you should
try. But, to maximize your surfing experience, you need to increase speed, stamina,
and about how to surf skill. In this article, I will give you some exercise to
increase your body fitness.
First exercise is warm up and down before surfing. Surfing
is a sport that needs heavily physical workouts, thus you need to prepare
yourself beforehand. By warming up, you can improve your surfing performance
and make your muscle prepared for anything. Warming up will make you more
invulnerable against muscle injury. You also need to warm down to relax your
muscle and make you refreshed.
The next exercise is the trainings of whole body. The
trainings of whole body are including core training, upper body training, and
lower body training. You need core stability training to give foundation for
your body movement. It will improve your balance and overall performance. The
training of the core is mainly about strengthening your abdominal. The upper body
training is important to help you paddle in the water and give you strength to
push up onto your feet. The upper body trainings are including the push up, and
indo upright row. The lower body trainings are good for you to take control of
the surfboard and help you maneuvers. Indoboard squat is an exercise that will
strengthen your lower body.
The third exercise is about the balance, breathing, and
aerobic. This exercise will help you to pull the surfboard longer on the waves
and keep your body fit. Balance training is an essential part of surfing. The
balance training can be done anywhere with simple moves such as single leg
balance exercises. Breathing exercise can improve your surfing performance
since it will increase lung capacity, oxygen, and also, improve your
concentration. Breathing exercise are including diaphragmatic breathing, supine
abdominal breathing, and surviving hold downs. The last exercise is aerobic or
cardiovascular. The activities such as swimming, cycling, and jogging are some
examples of aerobic or cardiovascular exercises. It will lower your blood
pressure, improving muscle tone and even strengthen your bone.
