Knowing about Windsurfing
In the early 70’s the first surfer of windsurfing or
sailor boarding discovered in Tarifa. This sport has maked this town be famous.
There are a total of six Windsurf zone
along the beach of Tarifa.
Boy, girl, man, and woman almost can windsurf, as long as you aren’t afraid of
the sea, you know how to swim, and you never mind some falls from board and
climb back on the board over and over.
Windsurfing commonly
called a sailorboard, it is a kind of water sport using a windsurf board that a
board with sail, usually two to five meters long and powered by the wind
pushing on a sail.
Slalom, speed sailing,
wave sailing, course racing, super X, and freestyle are kinds of windsurfing
style usually to be contest. Winds from 0 to 50 knots is possible to tough
winsurfing, usually ideal condition for most sailors of windsurfing is 15 to 25
knots.
Boards and gear
Shortboard or longboards were classified by windsurfer in the 1970’s and
1980’s. Longboards optimized for Lighter winds or course racing commonly, it’s
usually longer than 3 meters with a retractable daggerboard. Shortboards
designed for planing condition, it’s less than 3 meters long. Under a wide
range of wind condition, we still possible for windsurfing, although sail in
plan condition that allow for consistent planing with multi-purpose, not overly
specialized were prefered by most windsurfer.
Planing at wind speeds as low as 12 knots if rigged with an adequate capbled
for larger (100 to 140 liters) free-ride boards, well-tuned sail in the six to
eight square meter range. The pursuit has driven the development and spread of
wider and shorter boards. It’s for the planing in lower winds which planing is
possible in wind speeds as low as 8 knots, if sails in the 10 to 12 square
meter range are used.
